How to buy a nest of tables
Endlessly versatile, space-saving and smart, a nest of tables is a must-have for every home, providing surfaces for drinks, nibbles, plants, ornaments, books and almost anything else you can think of then storing neatly away when not needed. Our nests of two or three in oak or sheesham wood are available in a variety of styles so finding one to suit your décor and taste will be easy.
Things to consider
|
Before you choose your nest, there are a few things to consider.
- Do you want it to blend in with the rest of your décor or make a contrasting statement?
- Do you want a nest of three tables or two?
- Do you want a clean-lined contemporary set or something with a little more detail?
- Will you be using the tables occasionally or are you looking for tables that you can have out all of the time displaying things?

How to use your nest of tables
|
Because a nest of tables only takes up a small footprint, they are ideal for smaller rooms where only occasional use is required, each piece nesting neatly inside the other until needed again. But it doesn’t stop there. Use them at the end of a sofa for lamps or flowers. Use them at dinner parties for guests’ drinks and nibbles or use the largest one in the nest for propping up your laptop or eating your dinner in front of the TV. They are also ideal for games of cards and just the right size for small children to sit and draw at.

How else can a nest of tables be used?
|
A nest of tables lends itself to a variety of other uses around your home. Here are just a few ideas.
- A nest of tables in a larger room can be used to create an eye-catching display of ornaments or plants. Lined up in ascending order they make a great focal point.
- They can also make a great alternative to a coffee table if you don’t want anything permanently in front of your sofa. Our Cube Long John Coffee Table is particularly suitable, hence the name, as it consists of one long table and two smaller ones that nest beneath.
- Use them as bedside tables or dot them around your home where you need surfaces to display your favourite objects on.
- Pile up your favourite books in size order to make a bit of a feature of them.

Styles and finishes
|
Consider the natural warmth, durability and character of oak or the exotic appeal of handcrafted sheesham wood. Oak furniture is the classic choice. It brings natural rustic beauty, will last for a lifetime and gets better looking as the years go by. Plus it works well in both contemporary and more traditional settings. Perfect for adding a touch of the exotic to your living room, sheesham wood is a dense Indian hardwood that can be crafted into uniquely characterful pieces of furniture that will stand the test of time.

How to care for your nest of tables
|
With a little bit of care and attention, your tables should give great service for years.
- Good quality beeswax applied every six months or so will nourish the wood, provide protection and ensure it stays looking its best.
- Wipe off spills immediately with a damp cloth then use a dry cloth to finish off
- Avoid placing your nest of tables in direct sunlight to avoid fading, or too close to a radiator to prevent joints and veneers weakening.
